I'm doing a 366 Day Challenge, and am 366 days in! You can follow along on my PixelFed account. Now that it's over, I'm working on the challenge for next year

Well, death to 2020 and all that. I'm sure you've heard it every which way, but we're all glad for the worst year in our collective memory to be over.
I have been having a bit of a wonky year myself, and that was outside of the collective *waves hands everywhere*
I'm not sure what 2021 will bring, but I'm stoked that some of yall come to read my newsletter, and then send me emails back about it! I keep saying that I'll expand upon this newsletter to make it a bit more coherent and less of just a link roundup each week. Maybe 2021 is the year that I do that, or maybe it's the year that I finally learn to let go and just let some things rest for once.
Do you have any 2021 plans that don't involve the standard resolution format of doing something new better/faster/longer? I'd love to hear how you intend on making space in your life this year for something not driven by the frantic pace of modern life or the urge to always have to be productive. I could always use some camaraderie 😅

No way, the guy with multiple notebooks on his desk at one time thinks that paper planners are cool? Actually, weirdly enough, that's one of the few things that I don't do in paper form. 2021 maybe?
I was just complaining about how weird some people get about astrology on mastodon the other day. Then this falls into my feed and I am validated.
Maybe there isn't except to give some people a sense of smug superiority? Or a way to separate people into, "deserve to be broke", and "deserve to be houseless"?

They really hit on something that I love about Hey Arnold and shows like it: sometimes you just really want to root for the character who can find the good in anybody. This is a good video about a good show.
This is also a very good video. Such a sweet story told over decades in just a few minutes!
Parts of the year have really felt like a De Chirico painting to me. Not just the empty streets (since let's be honest, we barely got those in Florida). But also the lack of detail, and the stripping away to essentials.
Loving their newest album, loving this video, loving the vibe.
Yeah a Watcher video in the newsletter! I legitimately learned a lot about St. Nicholas that I did not know, and they didn't even take any time to cover some of the more common modernizations, like the Coca Cola Santa.
A few newsletters ago I shared this solution to the trolley problem. I didn't realize that a few years later his younger sister would be tasked with the same problem and come up with a wholly new solution.

A good album by a good friend. I love how they evoke some very specific emotions in their music, flip right over to something else, and take you along for the ride.
I think that I recommended this short story when it first came out a few years ago? Either way, it's a good listen for a year when we could really use some help handling disease outbreak. Also, unlikely animal friends are always good

I listened to the episode about 4chan that 2G1P did, and the guest sounded awful while listening to the point that I responded to all of the hosts. Turns out I was not at all alone in making this their most commented episode ever.

Keep yourself rested for those resolutions this year! 🥳 💝
