I want to talk briefly about tech.lgbt, and Mastodon as a whole. There have been quite a few kerfuffles in the space recently, which have made me rethink how I use it a lot. I've paused my Twitter usage basically, and made a bit of a proclamation there the other day for fun.

When I look at the signup requests that aren't spam for my Mastodon instance, I remember why it is better overall: It is your shaped space. There are some things that Twitter does better, and the network is different. But Mastodon excels at empowering every individual member with tools to curate and manage their experience in ways that corporate social media could not support.

Speaking of our favorite state and overbearing rich people, how do you feel about people owning all of the beaches, out to the tide line? Probably more frustrated than I feel about our neighbors owning and fencing off all of the area around the beautiful lake near our house, leaving no space for anyone to enjoy it.

Puppet History has been a pandemic gift to me. I always learn something new and am entertained.

HT to Lisa for this new video by T-Pain.I love how creative people have been getting around this game, and how people are unabashedly loving it out loud. I imagine cozycore during pandemic is a big part of it, as well as the slow encroachment of being open and vulnerable (see horny on main) into the general internet space

"Oh dear. That sounds serious."

It may have passed on Monday, but it was 21 September for a brief day. And it's amazing how quickly they reached their funding!
